Snow already falling in Avoriaz!

Today officially marks the start of Autumn.
Many will be sad as this means the departure of warm weather, beaches and BBQ’s, but for us winter sports enthusiasts… we’re acting like kids at christmas!

That’s right, we can officially start our countdown to the season ahead and start chatting about kit, where to ride, who else is going to throw a quad and more importantly, which bars might have more than 3 girls in this winter.

And celebrate we should as today also comes with the news that Avoriaz has received its first snow of the season… IN SEPTEMBER!!!

From the webcams photos you’ll see it’s only a slight dusting, but certainly bodes well for the season ahead and indeed Onyx Snowboarding’s winter camp in the opening week (13th – 20th December).

Last year saw Avoriaz as the only resort open over the pre-Christmas week within a 3hr driving radius, plus was the most snow sure resort in the entire alps! So keep those snow dances in full flow and here’s hoping we see snow levels to kick off the season like we did in December 2012!!
