The IPC Para-Snowboard World Championship will take place in La Molina, Spain, from 23rd – 28th February 2015, featuring banked slalom and snowboard-cross (head-to-head and time-trial) in SB-LL1, SB-LL2 and upper-limb impairment classifications. These disciplines have gained huge popularity since their debut at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games and we’re so excited to see the competition welcoming around 80 athletes from 20 countries!

But the main reason we’re so excited is that Britain’s own Ben Moore will be competing in the upper limb impairment category. We’re under no illusion you’ve just said “Ben who!?” but read on dear Onyx-ninjas as this man stands a good chance of showing the other riders a thing or two.

29 year old Ben was a regular rider down at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, before spending some time in Morzine/Avoriaz training (where Onyx-Vikki told him to “Man up princess!” for moaning about his bindings hurting) and then heading out to train in Canada this past couple of years.

We’ve kept tabs on Ben’s progress and he’s been a busy boy in the competition circuit taking first place in World Cup snowboard-cross head-to-head in Aspen, USA. He has also finished in the top three in every race he has entered in 2014-15, with two banked slalom and two time-trial podiums. His main compeition comes from the 27 year old Austrian, Patrick Mayrhofer, so were in for an exciting race between them.

So in short Ben is a man to watch and feel proud cheering for, so show him some support via the following platforms:
