The peace and quiet which normally lies across Morzine in the summer was disturbed this morning by the persistent buzzing of a helicopter. Now that the summer season is officially over and the lifts (and bike runs) of Morzine are closed, work has picked up in earnest to get the replacement Pleney lift completed in time for the Winter season (14th December 2013). The Pleney lift site is one of the oldest in France, originally constructed in 1934, having been updated several times since then. Eyebrows were raised when the arrival station at the top of the hill suffered an arson attack in May this year, almost conveniently timed after the machinery had been removed. The fire also damaged the restaurant which shared part of the roof over the arrivals station.
With the brand new Prodains Express lift in place and ready to whisk you up to Avoriaz in less than four minutes and a top of the range TCD10 being installed at Pleney, there has never been a better time to join us here in the Portes du Soleil. Whether you are coming over for one of our All Mountain Performance (AMP) camps, are looking for some one on one coaching or joining like minded riders of a similar standard in one of our excellent group progression sessions, you can relax and steal those ‘extra five minutes’ in bed knowing that the resort boasts one of the most up to date lift systems in the region.
