Snowboarding In Portes du Soleil This Weekend Plus Xmas Events In Morzine.

As the view from our Onyx Penthouse shows, snowboarding in the Portes Du Soleil is set to kick off this weekend in truly epic fashion.

Avoriaz will open it’s slopes for the season on December 15th plus the Morzine – Les Gets area will  partially open the same day, a week earlier than planned! The full Portes du Soleil snowboard area is still scheduled to open from Dec 22nd 2012 – 21st April 2013 and the Onyx team cannot wait to get back on the white stuff!
Our inaugural All Mountain Performance  snowboard camp kicks off on December 15th and has completely sold out! But worry not, if these pictures are setting your mind into a frenzy of snow addiction be sure to check our our range of group and private lessons available throughout the season PLUS the second instalment of our AMP camps running March 23rd – 30th 2013 which still has a couple of space for all you intermediate and advanced riders. Sunday 23rd December
From 4.30pm to 6.30pm 
Concert by ‘Chaps’, in front of the Tourist Office
(The team are unsure if this means well spoken gentlemen in suits drinking tea!)

Morzine Ste. Marie-Madeleine church looking festive ready for Portes du Soleil opening.

Monday 24th December
At 6pm
Ice dance show ‘Princess Sarah’s Christmas’ with Sarah Abitbol (bronze medalist in the world championships in Nice in 2000) and Stéphane Bernadis (10 times French Champion and 7 European medals).


Monday 31st December
From 5.30pm
New Year’s Eve “The Flash Mob Dance Family”, in front of the Tourist Office.
From 6.30pm
Torchlight ski parade by ESF instructors on the Pléney, followed by fireworks.


Tuesday  1st January 2013
From 4.30pm to 6pm
Nano block – Street musicians with a punchy beat  and explosive rhythms, the afro latin groove and moove group will wow you with a rhythmic show, mixing theatre and percussion.

(If they allow audience participation or at least share some dance moves, we think this could be a winner!)
