Our splitboard lessons in Chamonix benefit from a wealth of varied terrain on tap to suit beginners and more advanced tourers alike.
For first timers our lessons include an introduction to your equipment, skinning techniques and how to kick turn, along with tips for making your descent effortlessly flowing and head turningly epic.
Experienced splitboarders will enjoy adventures further away from the crowds, taking advantage of our local knowledge for either a 1/2 or full day of the best backcountry terrain Chamonix is famous for.
Our off-piste / backcountry snowboard lessons and split boarding tours in Chamonix are built bespoke around your ability and experience. There are numerous start locations, so check out our FAQ section below.
We can select terrain to suit most ability levels. Being confident on your board will help you get the most out of this type fo lesson, so for this an safety reasons we ask that you be of level 6 or higher on our scale.
Being in good physical shape will help on splitboard tours and we advise you be able to complete a gentle 5km jog/walk without requiring an ambulance to fully enjoy your lesson.

Off piste intro and split boarding intro lessons take place in Le Tour, Grand Montets, Flegere and Brevent.
Bespoke tours and more advanced backcountry/split boarding lessons take place in the above areas and/or the wider Chamonix valley area.
You can join us for either a half day (3 hours) or full day (6 hours) backcountry and split boarding lesson.
Backcountry snowboard lesson in Chamonix are delivered in English by one of our BASI L4 ISTD instructor with French carte pro equivalence, bringing a wealth of experience along with a die hard passion for backcountry riding and all it has to offer.
Inline with qualificaYons, all lesson will take place on non glaciated terrain.

These are available to hire from rental shops in Chamonix, or please bring your own.
For split boarding lessons you will need to provide your own poles, skins, split board etc If you wish to hire this equipment we can recommend rental shops in Chamonix to help you.
For backcountry lessons an off piste specific board will certainly help with float and a less achy back leg.
Friends are always welcome to join you on a private backcountry adventure.
We run from 1-6 people in one lesson. All group members must meet the minimum level requirements and we will always choose terrain appropriate for the least experienced member of the group.
For safety reasons, all group memebers must be a minimum of level 6 or above.
